Duane Sullivan
|
 |
Since 1982, Duane Sullivan has been involved in show business as professional
actor and singer/musician. After graduating
from the New England Conservatory in 1990 as vocal performance major, he made
the performing arts his full time profession.
Theatrically, Duane has appeared nationally
in Forever Plaid in over 470 performances. He also performed
and produced Forever Plaid in downtown Boston in the Terrace Room at the Park Plaza Hotel. His other major credits in addition to
performing Forever Plaid include the major role of Frederic in Pirates of Penzance at the Worcester Foothills Theatre. |
Duane is also a charter member of the Showstoppers organization in Scituate, MA, appearing
in numerous musicals and plays in Scituate
and throughout New England, as well as Colorado
and Florida. Since 1999 Duane has been involved
with Comedy Theatre Productions, performing as an actor and musician in
interactive murder mysteries for public and
corporate entertainment.
|
As a musician, Duane has been singing and
playing his guitar in nursing homes, retirement
communities, and adult day care centers.
In the 1980’s, he was sponsored by the Norfolk-Bristol Ambulance Service to perform music as a customer service for
their clients. After this, he became a member
of Paul Wiggin’s organization MUSE Inc., Music Serving Elders, and based in Newton,
MA. This association expanded Duane’s contracts
with over 250 senior facilities in the Eastern
Massachusetts region.
|
Duane’s musical style and repertoire are
derived from his study of classical music;
his immersion into musical theater, his love
of rhythm and blues, his church musical experience;
as well as from his extensive elder generational
performances singing pop songs from the Gay
Nineties to the present day.
